Finally! NYC was AMAZING but I'm so glad to be back... well, except the grossly muggy weather here. Ew. That's the only drawback to living in DC... That, and all the liberals! Haha.
I had a really excellent time, especially considering that my roomie and I didn't fight once. She really wanted to do the whole tourist thing, ya know, see the Statue of Liberty, Grand Central, etc. I, like always, just wanted to absorb the atmosphere. I know that sounds beyond cheesy, but I love getting to know the personality of a city, not just its landmarks. We spent an entire, glorious day museum hopping, and another running all over the ethnic neighborhoods and getting fat on foreign cuisine. :) But, I can't be doing too much eating, otherwise I'll break my pointe shoes. Don't get me wrong, I definitely don't starve myself my any means, but lately I've been eating a lot more than I care to, and being a dancer, you HAVE to be at the top of your game. Speaking of, I need to attend Open Barre at least once this week... Lovely, another thing to add to my list!
I also badly need a manicure, and to get ready for fellowship this weekend! I'm in charge of bringing snacks, so I'm making these amazing cookies that my friend gave me the recipe for. They're surprisingly low-cal, and DELISH. I forget what they're called, but they're very everything-but-the-kitchen-sink. Lol. And speaking of church, I need more Sunday clothes! Ahh. I saw an adorable white silk, puff-sleeve dress in Banana Republic last week that I must own.
Okay, and now I gotta go clean the apartment! And get ready for dinner with my girls tonight. :)
